Partner NGO

The local NGO’s are in many cases active as micro credit organizations or as banks, operating for the poor, who cannot afford the financial services from commercial banks or insurance companies.

As micro credit organizations, they are affiliated with associations of credit unions, from which they receive operational support and expertise. The International Network of Alternative Financial Institutions (INAFI; www.inafiinternatinal.org) and the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) are such associations.

MIAN considers the local NGO to be the primary actor for micro insurance requests. At this time, MIAN cooperates with local NGO’s in seven countries; amongst others with DHAN in India, NEFSCUN in Nepal, UCA in Uganda and CCSF in Cambodia.
